Our Wedding Ceremony on Castillo San Felipe del Morro | San Juan, Puerto Rico

Our ceremony started as soon as the park rangers could clear El Morro of all visitors.  Our goal was 7:00 pm, and low and behold, our ceremony started exactly at that time.  Securing the fort had its own hurdles, but I am so glad we held our ceremony there.  It was such a romantic location and the weather and decor were just what I had hoped.  I was worried about how much light we would have, but it ended up being just right.  I couldn’t believe everything fell into place like it did.

We wrote the entire ceremony, our Aunt married us, and we read our own vows, so it was very personal and intimate.  I hope you enjoy the photos.  (I started with my very favorite photo of the entire day!  I hope to get it on a canvas someday.)

Did you use a wedding planner in PR?

Hi Ashley, I am also planning a wedding at El Morro and I would love to know who your planner was if you worked with one. I am also curious to know what your experience was like with the globe lights. One planner I spoke to was very opposed to using them because of the wind at the site. I would appreciate any insights you have! My email is serafise@gmail.com. Thanks!

Kamil from El Convento was our planner. We had no problems with the globe lights, and the wind was relatively calm for us. We worked with DJ rockhand to light the ceremony.
