Creamy Cheese Bread | Recipe

Warning:  This is super easy to make and highly addictive!
Creamy Cheese Bread

1/2 cup sour cream*
1/2 cup mayonnaise*
1 cup shredded cheese
(We used cheddar, but I think anything that melts fairly easily would work!)
1 package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
1 loaf French bread, sliced

*We used both light sour cream and light mayo and it still tasted great!

  1. Preheat your broiler.
  2. Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, cheese, and dressing mix in a bowl.
  3. Spread mixture evenly on bread slices.
  4. Arrange on baking sheet.
  5. Broil as long as it takes for the cheese to melt and the bread to be lightly browned.  (I like to put it on a lower shelf and let it cook a bit longer so that the mixture really soaks into the bread!  About 5 minutes, but you really just need to keep an eye on it since everyone has a different oven and taste preference.)
  6. Enjoy!

You can also easily make half of this recipe.  Hope you like it!

  1. That looks delicious! I wonder if I could substitute something else for the mayo since I dislike mayo so much.

    1. Hmm... maybe a little plain yogurt, or even just more sour cream? You could try doing just sour cream and cheese and it may work! It seems like it would be fairly easy to play around with. :)

  2. It was definitely a bad idea to read this. I want it!!

  3. Looks yummy. It would be nice to serve it when friends do come over.

I love comments. Thank you for taking the time to say hi!
